Joey and Maya are cousins, and when their moms contacted me about taking their senior photos at Chautauqua Park, I just knew we were going to be a good fit! Joey and Maya get to share a pretty special experience. How many cousins get to go through their senior year at the same time? Plus, this family knows how to have a good time! We combined their senior sessions and that worked out perfectly for both of them.
Maya and Joey picked Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado as their session location. If you’re not familiar with Chautauqua Park, it’s ICONIC. Each time I’m there, there are usually plenty of other photographers with their clients. The view is extraordinary, it’s easily accessible from Denver and the surrounding areas, and the wildflowers are truly something to write home about in the summer (see Kayla’s senior session at Chautauqua Park during peak wildflower season HERE)! Not to mention, Chautauqua Park is home to several beautiful hiking trails. If you would like your next session to be at Chautauqua Park, don’t let the busyness of the location discourage you. The park is huge, and even when it’s crowded, it’s easy to spread out to get a clear background.
I had a wonderful evening photographing Joey and Maya! They are both so kind and easygoing. I also had the opportunity to meet their siblings, and it was fun to watch their dynamic. Joey’s younger brother has a comedic superpower and could easily make the entire group laugh. If you’re a parent reading this blog, and your kid is introverted, bringing their siblings, cousins, or a couple of friends to their senior session might help them feel more relaxed.
