Throughout the summer, I have lots of clients asking for wildflowers in their photos, but many of them don’t want to drive long distances to their session location. While there are plenty of beautiful wildflowers in the mountains, the drive to get to them can be long. But what if I told you there’s a location within 30 minutes of Denver that boasts beautiful wildflowers every year? You’ll usually find the wildflowers here in June and July. The flowers are typically gone by August, so if you want to catch them before they’re gone, don’t wait too long!

So, where is this place?

Chautauqua Park in Boulder, CO is a great spot to see and take photos with the wildflowers! It’s an easy drive from Denver and, in addition to the wildflowers, has an iconic mountain view. You’ll find that Chautauqua Park tends to be busy throughout the summer, but it’s a BIG park! So even if there are lots of other visitors there, it won’t feel overly crowded. The Pearl Street Mall is nearby, so after you’ve enjoyed some fresh mountain air, you can visit the local shops and restaurants.

One of the places I find particularly enjoyable in Boulder is the Dushanbe Tea House. If you want an authentic Boulder experience, be sure to check it out while you’re in the area! If you’re out for a fun day with your kids, Into the Wind is a must-see! They offer a large selection of fun and unique toys, plus more kites than you’ve ever seen in one place. I hope this gives you some ideas for your next date night, family day, or girls’ trip! There are many sights to see in and around Boulder.
