What is the best time of day to schedule my session?
Golden hour is the best time to take outdoor photos! The hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset offer the dreamiest and most flattering light. I try to avoid taking photos at other times of the day because I want to be a good steward of your investment and deliver the best possible product to you. Rearranging your normal routines on the day of your session might be worth it to get photos that you will love forever! However, if your kiddos go to bed at 8pm and it’s too much of a stretch to put them to bed later, just remember that the time at which the sun rises and sets is constantly changing. Perhaps an early spring, late fall, or even a winter session would better suit your needs when the sun is setting earlier. If for some reason, you absolutely cannot meet at golden hour and are only available mid-day when the light is harsh, an indoor session could also be a great option for you!
How will I receive my photos?
Once I have finished editing your photos, I will upload them to an online gallery and send you a link to the gallery via email. From your gallery, you will be able to download high-resolution and web-size photos, order print products, and share your photos with friends and family!
Do you offer sessions outside of the Denver Metro area?
Yes! I include 50 miles of travel with the session (25 each direction for a total of 50). If the location is within my travel radius, there is no travel fee. If you would like your session to be at a location that requires me to travel further than 50 miles, a travel fee will be added to your session fee. I will create a custom quote for you based on the distance and travel expenses that are incurred. If your location of choice requires a permit for us to shoot there, the permit fee will be added to your cost also.
Do you photograph weddings?
At this time, I do not offer wedding services. If that changes in the future, I will post those services on my site.
What can I expect when you edit my photos?
When I edit your images, I do so lightly. I make slight color adjustments and I remove blemishes or stray hairs that make their way onto your face. In most cases, I do not offer extensive editing services. If you see your photos and notice something you would like to change that requires extensive editing, IF I can make that change, there will be an additional fee. I will create a custom quote for you based on the amount of work required to complete the task. Please keep in mind that any additional edits you request that can be completed will take extra time. I do not remove scars unless you specifically ask me to do so. It is important to me that your images are an authentic reflection of you!
What should I wear to my session?
I recommend dressing up for your photos! If you look and feel great, you will like your photos that much more. That’s not to say that I can’t get awesome photos of you in jeans and a t-shirt, but I promise that you will be so much happier with the finished product if you are wearing your favorite dress that fits like a glove or a suit that makes you feel (and look) like a million bucks! BUT, the most important accessory to bring to your session is joyfulness; that will make all the difference. 🙂
Each client who books with me will have access to my style guide to help with coordinating outfits!
What can I do to help my child cooperate during the session?
If you can bring your child’s favorite toy as well as water and a snack to your session, that will go a long way! I also recommend arriving 10 to 15 minutes early. Sometimes kids fall asleep in the car on the way to the session location and are tired and groggy right as I’m starting to take photos. It helps to give your child a chance to wake up or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, be able to release any pent-up energy they may have. Giving your child a reward for good behavior at the end of your session is also a great motivator! The most important tip is to give yourself grace. There are plenty of kids who do not like taking photos– you are not alone! We’ll do the best we can together!
What happens if there is bad weather the day of my session?
If it’s something we can work around, I generally try to continue with the session. If it appears that we will not be able to work around the weather, we will reschedule.
Can I purchase print products from you?
Yes, you can purchase print products from me! I do not require my customers to purchase their prints through me, but I do offer great quality prints from a lab and they offer so much more than standard prints. Do you want your favorite family photo printed on canvas? They’ve got it! You want a metal print of your son or daughter’s senior portrait? They’ve got it!
Can I pick any location for my session?
I hold permits to a variety of locations! If you want your session to take place at a different spot, I’ll do my best to make it happen for you! If a permit is required at your selected location, the permit fee will be added to the cost of your session. There is no additional permit fee if I already hold the permit to that location. In some rare cases, photography is not allowed in certain locations, so it’s possible that we might not be able to shoot at an historic building you’ve had your eye on. No matter where your session takes place, you are the star of the show! The background is just a bonus.
Can I bring props to my session?
That depends on the location. Some locations allow props while others prohibit them.
I’m interested in booking with you. What are the next steps?

“We did senior pictures of our daughter and her friend with Sweet Solstice Photography. Tori was wonderful and very fun to work with- she is very talented and professional. She had great ideas for the location of the photo shoot and was very creative with the pictures. Her responses before, during, and after the shoot were very timely. We had a fabulous experience and would highly recommend using Sweet Solstice Photography!!”
